English Springer Spaniel

The name Springer derives from their hunting style of actively "springing" or flushing game from cover. English Springers excel at pheasant but are versatile "fur and feather" gundogs used to hunt a variety of game including chukar, grouse, woodcock, hare and waterfowl. ESS are the tallest of the land spaniels at 19-20 inches tall and about 40-55 lbs. They can be liver and white, black and white, blue or liver roan, and tri-colored (any of these with additional tan markings).
