Sussex Spaniel

This spaniel's name derives from Sussex, England. There the abundance of game and custom of hunting on foot suited the low-to-the-ground Sussex. Though with their shorter legs they lack the speed of taller Cockers or Springers, Sussex have good noses and are determined upland hunters. The rich golden liver color is a distinguishing characteristic of the breed. Sussex are built rather long and low, about 35-45 lbs.
